Milia

Tucked away in the mountains of western Crete, near Vlatos, the eco-village of Milia is a unique eco-tourism project. An abandoned medieval settlement has been respectfully restored, preserving the stone houses and the traditional way of life.

The accommodation is lit by candles and oil lamps, the electricity is solar-powered, and the restaurant serves dishes made with organic produce from its own gardens. It’s an experience of complete disconnection amidst nature.
