Sarakina Gorge

Near the village of Mythoi, in the Ierapetra area, the Sarakina Gorge impresses with its vertical, narrow walls of grey limestone, which in places rise to great heights.

The walk takes you through and alongside the stream, with sections where you need to wade through the water or scramble over rocks — a fun little adventure. You can cool off in the small pools of cold, clear water.

The gorge is relatively short but impressive, ideal for a day trip from the south coast.

Tip: Wear shoes that can get wet — you’ll be walking through the water.
